The half empty pitcher of white sangria fueled the bar idea. It won't stay this way forever, just until the machine is cleaned and a new belt attached. In the meantime the bottles serve as decadent clutter prevention. Also, displaying them instead of just storing them in a kitchen helped turn the apartment where I've been for the past year into my home.

ReplyDeleteI have a 1912 Singer Treadle, I use it for a Sewing Machine, well, I'm learning... lol. I also have a White FR (Family Rotary) 1913 treadle that my BF and I are restoring. After that there will be a 1920 Singer that I'm debating on attaching a hand crank to :)

!WANT! :D The cabinet is gorgeous, and that's a perfectly reasonable and lovely way to use it until the machine is restored. I dearly want a treadle machine - my workhorse machine is still my 1950-something Grasshopper. She only stitches straight, but she'll punch through steel to do it! :D The older machines are just incredible, so long as you don't want anything fancy (or are willing to haunt eBay for attachments)
