My stitching has improved dramatically. The satin stitches were always uneven at the edges and would have random loose threads, and the chain stitches always got progressively tighter. I'm not sure what I'm doing differently, maybe just more experience in general has helped. And yes, the cross is a wide chain stitch that I made wider as it reached outward. It worked well!Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16621589278068001456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6863349942481317862.post-5352435915404709822010-05-06T19:51:28.363-07:002010-05-06T19:51:28.363-07:00that's a beautiful piece of work! is the cross...that's a beautiful piece of work! is the cross made up of an extra-wide chain stitch? cos i can't quite tell. either way, still very gorgeous!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03295243510763569715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6863349942481317862.post-70784007912405493692010-05-06T16:02:42.281-07:002010-05-06T16:02:42.281-07:00I'd say not! Sarah and I are off to Lincolnshire tomorrow for a Medieval churches festival, so I'll send you any pics of good embroidered altar-cloths etc that we find.
